PROTEIN Vs. CARBS…. And the winner is…

Protein Vs Carbs diets

There was a study done to 811 overweight persons who were to follow one of the four following diets:

1. 40% fat, 25% protein, 35% carbohydrates
2. 40% fat, 15% protein, 45% carbohydrates
3. 20% fat, 15% protein, 65% carbohydrates
4. 20% fat, 25% protein, 55% carbohydrates

And the winner is… CALORIES!

Yes, at the end of a two-year period of the study all the four groups lost an average of almost nine pounds. Participants all reported similar hunger and satiety no matter which diet they were on. Therefore it is more important according to this study to focus on caloric intake…. It is even easier taking care of one thing instead of three. Even though, a balanced diet is recommended for the right micronutrient intake and well functioning of your body.
